A Stotra is a prayer, hymn or ocelot in praise of a deity. The Stotra has a certain set of fixed rules which are bound by tradition. A Stotra can be in the form of an Astakams, which is an eight verse rhyming prayer or a Namavali like Sahasranama which means thousand names of a deity.
Stotras are very popular forms of worship amongst Hindus all over the world.Stotras are also called Stotrams.
